Gang,
I was sitting here in my office and I saw a lot of commotion at the window. I went outside and my horn was BLARING... The key fob would not turn it off, nor open the doors. I opened the door manually with the key and started the car just fine. The problem is that the horn continued to blare even with the car running. I had to remove the fuse in order to turn off the horn. Does anyone have ANY ideas of what I can do to fix this? I replaced the horn relay switch when I got and and put the fuse back in, but the horn just BLARES...
I would get a wiring schematic and see if the output wire from the horn is hot under the column. It should only show twelve volts when pressed. I'm assuming its that since its constantly blaring. Do you have an aftermarket alarm, or a remote start? If you do there is relays under there that went bad to the horn trigger. Good luck

Just had mine replaced under warranty, I had the fuse pulled on mine for a long time too. Then I put the fuse back and it would only go off intermittantly (worse in the winter). I could tap on the horn switch and get it to go off (stop blaring) most of the time.

Bad horn wiring that is in the drivers air bag on the wheel column. Sometimes you can play with the horn switch in the air horn but this problem is a wire short inside the bag
The horn on my 2000 stopped working a few years ago, and I had to replace both horns. They are located on the passenger side, under the headlight. There is a plastic access panel underneath car, near the air dam. I think it has 5 or 6 screws holding it in place, and if you remove it, you'll see the two horns. I think they are made by Framm, and you can buy a replacement at most auto parts stores.
I'm not sure why the horn died prematurely. I did have one experience on a very cold night, car was parked outside, and the horn inexplicably was honking (continuously as opposed to intermittently like when the alarm is activated). I got in the car, and pushed in the steering wheel, and the horn stopped. I think the switch in the steering wheel expanded or contracted with the change in temperatures, and turned on the horn. When I first noticed that my horns weren't working, it was after another very cold night when I was parked outside. So I think maybe the same thing happened, but the horns burned out since I wasn't there to turn it off.

I do not have an aftermarket alarm nor a remote start. I will try testing the voltage. I'll keep you all posted. Please keep the suggestions coming.

My '98 did the same thing, I gave the horn a couple quick honks, it stuck on the second honk. I'll say that C5 horn is LOUD!! Its been five years & my ears still ache.
Good luck, hope it turns out to be an easier fix than the thread above.
I had this happen just driving down the street... i freaked out and just hit the wheel as hard as i could like 3 or 4 times and it hasnt done it since... probably not the greatest fix but hey..
