Christmas tree in the C5

Today I had a weird stuff happening with my C5.
I was driving in town at 30 mph when I decided to move my seat forward while driving. I don't know if this is related to what happened next but as soon as I touched the button on the seat I had a wonderful Xmas tree on my dash...Every light that could be lighted was on (Security, ABS, ASR, Check Engine and so on...), the chime sounded and every gauge showed zero (Speed, fuel, batt...etc) but the engine was still running although I had "Engine reduced power" showed on the DIC followed by "Service Vehicule Soon"
Okay, I then pulled over, stopped the engine, waited a few seconds and restarted, then...everything was back to normal
Did that ever happened to you?

1) explosive bolts blow your roof clear of the car
2) the passenger seat is launched 40 feet in the air
....... just kidding .....
There are MANY things that may have caused this ... low battery voltage, a short in the wiring .... best way to start diagnosing the problem is to display DTC data. Most likely one or more computers threw a DTC when this occured.
To display the DTC data, follow this link's instructions
https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...D=26&TopicID=1
I'd consider displaying the codes, writing them down, and then DELETE all the DTC codes. Check again in a day or so, and see if any new codes are posted. That will go a long way toward helping diagnose the problem.
Also, consider looking at Bill Curlee's excellent sticky at the top of this forum regarding electrical issues in a Corvette. Tons of good information, and it will give you an idea how "sensitive" the C5 is to issues such as good grounds, wiring issues at the door jams, etc.
