I believe the bb headers are shorties. Depending on what year your car is you can see some gains over the stock manifolds. On the last few years of the c5 the factory manifolds were actually pretty close to the shorties in performance. Other than the guys who live in california where it is illegal to have long tube headers(which I am sure plenty of people use them anyway) its not worth it. Go with long tubes or dont do it in my opion. Long as you pick one of the top brand long tubes you will not regret it. Kooks, American Racing, LG are the way to go.
When I bought my car it had shorties on it. I do live in CA but both times I have had it smogged I don't think the guy gave a rats *&^%. They look good and I have not had any problems with them as far as leaks or anything.
BUT STAY AWAY FROM THE SHORTIES. NOT WORTH THE $$ TO THE LT HEADERS TO H.P. GAIN AND TQ...
I might modify this statement by saying that bbuying them new..might not bet worhth the bucks...getting a used set you will seem some gains and the $$/benifit ratio goes up
if i remember correctly, these are also referred to as B&B. the B&B shorties have equal length primaries making them significantly better at scavenging than most shorties.

Yep..if you dont buy them I will! Just not new for $1000 bucks!

BB's =$400 for 10 hp TOPS= $40 per hp<<<<<< a better ratio
I have a set of LPE long tube headers. They were made for LPE by B&B.
Quality and performance is good. The ones B&B sells now are a different (improved?) design. For the price, I don't think you can go wrong.
I bought a set of B&B shorty's for $300 and installed them on my car in about 4 hours with no problems and no "tune" required. I am very happy with them in all respects. Not as much power as LT's but they are alot less money and less hassels. It also depends on what future mods you have in mind for your car.
I have coated B&B shorties. They were super easy to install, they sound a little nicer than stock, they don't have heat issues for underhood temps or plug wires, and they netted an honest 10 RWHP.
They are a great compromise for people looking for a CARB #, or people who don't want to spend $1500 or more.
