If it is the fuel pump, let it go or have it fixed? Just bought the car and it was parked and only driven for 90 miles in 6 months, maybe it will quiet down after it is driven more?
Mine has made noise, off and on for some time.It actually got VERY loud one time and I thought that it was gonna go.Then it calmed down and has been fine for a couple years now.I refuse to repair it unless it is affecting performance, which it has not.
Do you note any difference in noise when the outside temps differ? In other words, more noise when it is warm or when the car has been operated for a while? And is there any difference in noise when the fuel tank is full versus nearly empty?
The C5 noisy fuel pump will be louder when ambient air temps are warm, the car has been operated for a while and if the tank is low.
