Best High Performance A4?
Any ideas on the best high performance A4? Long term, after the 427 is finished, a TT may be added. We want a bullett-proof tranny.

As you know, we already had the heads & cam installed for the supercharger. When the head-gasket failed, a 422 seemed like a more logical approach. However, as we talked to Mike, the C5R block provided more reliability, so went with the 427. With a couple of tuners offering a TT package for the C5R 427, we are thinking of that too. :D

that is awesome, not many people are going with a C5R block. That thing will be a beast.
I may have to make a trip to Mike's shop just to get a ride in it when it is complete... :eek: :yesnod: :cheers:

That engine you are building is really going to be the cats as ss! Wow, wil that be awesome. Call Chuck Johnson at Finish Line Performance (or email him) in Naperville, IL, as they build I Level IV A4 racing tranny (which I and several other forum members have) which is an awesome bullet proof tranny. THey are running a grand special I heard for $1800.00 plus core. They built black thunder tranny in new jersey which isn't done yet but will be one of the baddest c5s in the country. Also, austrian vette is running this tranny and has been very happy.

ARE has a an A4 upgrade package as well. It has held around 800rwhp on many mid 9 second runs. The upgrade is around $2000. Shoot me an email if you want any more info on it.

Don´t know about the ARE tranny, but they sure have good stuff!!!!
Lingenfelter is an option also.
He get´s his von Rossler.
I think the FLP LEVEL IV tranny will do it!!
I have it myself and it works great for me (see sig).
I have a friend that puts out about 1000 turbo hp on his LEVEL IV since
2 seasons now!! NO problems .....beside slipping tires on his 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 shift :D
The vacuum shift modulator that comes with that tranny seems to be a must
on that hp.
Black thunder has that tranny also, and I think he puts out about 1000hp and lot´s of torque on his Cartek 427 3stage NOS engine!! :eek:
