Default oil consumption decreasing

It seems as though as I rack up miles my oil cons. problem is decreasing, even with 5W-30. I have 21,000 miles. Used to use 1 qt every 1000 to 1500 miles, now half to 1 qt ever 4000 miles. Any one else with similar situaltion?

Oil usage should decrease with miles on the odom. Rings seat and parts wear in, causing less heat build-up etc. I'm now at 36K and don't use a drop unless I take her to triple digits.... :D

I was worried that carbon deposits were sealing things off.

Oil consumption kept getting less and less until about 10,000 miles when it stopped. And that's with triple digits.

Same here on a 2000 C5 convertible (MN6).

Started out at 800 mpq.

At 4000 miles down to 1,800 mpq w/5W30 and 2,200 mpq for 10W30.

Now have 23,000 miles and amazed at no oil useage with 2,300 miles after last oil change.

No change in driving habits.

Mine needed a quart added between oil changes. Now, with 20,000 miles, it burns no oil.

Almost identical to my oil consumption changes. As I added miles the consumption went down...After 23,000 miles, I now can make a complete oil
change without having to add a quart of oil. I guess some LS1's need a longer breakin period then others.
