Default Electric Vacuum Pump from SSBC

Could this unit by itself or being Overspun by BAP or other voltage multiplier pull enough vacuum through a Filtered Catch Can System to keep our intakes cleaner & in addition help to seal piston rings??? I would rather not install belt driven unit but like the benefits of a vacuum pump ...Just an idea, "Flame Suit On"

Vacuum pumps are designed to produce a certain amount of vacuum, simply applying more voltage does not mean it will create more vacuum. Also, if the pump motor is designed to function with 12volts, then multiplying the voltage input may damage the motor. Finally, this pump is capable of producing 24 inches of vacuum, how do you know this will not be adequate?

I think you should buy this unit and install it on your car and tell us how it performs. I think it will be an interesting read..........

You make some good points I am in the final stages of "Complete Home Remodel" and my time, money, and sanity are very low on reserves May be a little project I take on after I upgrade my fuel system $$$$$ My ADHD keeps myself looking for new projects or purchases before I even finish what I'm in the middle of. I just thought that someone more experienced & skilled than me may have done this or have the need to try this so I posted my thoughts. I appreciate your observations, I did not read where this unit is capable of producing 24 inches of vacuum

I have this kit, I ran it on my Very Heavily Modified Tahoe (high 12's). It was a fully built engine with a supercharger. I have this entire kit sitting in a box, I only used it for a month and then I demodded the truck and put it back to stock. I didnt do any tests with it installed. It has great suction but I dont know if it can pull the volume. It would be interesting if someone installed it and did some testing.

No question that the idea is to reduce crankcase pressure. Why not try the old trick of venting to venturi tubes the exhaust headers.

Actually, that's not a bad idea, provided you could set it up to only work during boost or WOT.

I tried that too, unfortunately that works well on Race vehicles with open headers and no packpressure. You would need a Very free flowing exhaust system with zero backpressure.
