I then have to press the console button to turn off the Traction control system.
The car resumes regular speed then. The error message stays on.
Any suggestions as to the fix.

Doesn't traction control work by seeing how fast the rear tire spins in relation to the front? If so a tire size change could affect it. Did you change you tire sizes recently?

Sounds like your front tires are slightly larger in diameter than the rears. This can happen even if the front rims are smaller than the rears.
I Know On My O3 The Shocks Have Sensors On Them And If Your Shocks Leak You Cant Go Past 80. Shocks On 03 Cost About 600 A Shock
Must be the F45 Variable Real Time Damping System. Various vendors have the Bilsteins (to pick one) in the range of $300 for four. There are threads on how to disable the F45 system and use Z06 shocks/sway bars for a more conventional (and aggressive, per some writers) setup.

This is almost always the result of improper sized tires.
Post what your front/rear tire sizes are to confirm.
