Do 18x12s rub?
Im told by some (the one's selling them) that do not rub but z06s need to remove the air duct, by others that they rub...
any experience with these, I assume base and Z06 have the same clearance?

if the offset if correct, then you'll be fine. I'm running 18 x 12's with no issues. They are aftermarket Z06 rims. I hope this helps.

If you buy the rims with the proper offset for the C5 they will clear. I run 3.35s on 12" rims also.

I'm running 335s on a 18x12 CCW but had to remove the rear brake cooling ducts for clearance.

Of course not, when you stick 3/4" wider fenders on.
