Default Need Help Asap Header Install

Ok I Ordered A Set Of Tsp V2 Long Tube Headers With Air To Fit 97-00 Cars. They Look Great And Went In Very Easy Right Up Till I Noticed That The Passager Side Air Fitting Was One Primary Off. I Called Tsp And Matt Said The Headers Were Right That My Car Must Have The Manifolds And Air System Off A 01 Model(it Was A Late Build). He Suggested Either Capping Off The Air, Sending Them Back For Replacement Kooks Or Something That Has Air For 01-04, Or Splicing The Air Line And Moving It Forward The One Primary. They Recommended Using Emissions Tubing. This Can Not Be Found Here Anywhere. I Did Come Up With Some Other Tubing That I Think Will Work But Need To Know How Hot The Air Lines Get Up About 10 Inches Or So Away From The Header.(i Realy Dont Think My Car Has 01 And Up Manifolds And Air I Thik The Headers Are Wrong.) Thanx For Any Help Anyone Can Give. Brett

Default hey brett...

Iam also from TN. Take a picture of your headers and the air tube setup, you can get an answer on that immediately. We will find out for sure who is right or wrong. As far as modifying it, just be sure to not cause any leaks and you should be fine. Do a search on here, for headers and changing the air tubes, I saw the post somewhere on how a guy did just that, moved the air pipes around.

Hope this helps

I Do Not Know How To Post A Pic On Here But The Headers Flange Is On The 3 Primary Back On The Passangers Side And My System Is Setup For The Last Primary. If Anyone Knows If This Is Right Or Wrong I Would Like To Know, But It Makes Little Difference Now I Just Need To Know What Temp The Tubing Needs To Be Able To Withstand( I Would Not Think It Would Be That Much Considering The Drivers Side Has A Ruber Line Too. The Stuff I Came Up With May Be Exstreme Over Kill).

97-00 air tube is on the fourth pipe, 01-04 is on the third pipe.
where is the pipe on your stock manifolds? If the header has the pipe on the third tube and it does not fit, they sent you the 01-04 headers, wrong ones. Send the header back or get the 01-04 air pipe and remove the intake and replace yours with it.

Look where your air tube is. I also recommend going to http://www.LS1howto.com. Check under the C5 LG Header install. They talk about how the air tubes don't match up and LG provides replacement airtubes to put in the car, also with a procedure. Hint: You have to remove the intake manifold.

Sounds like they sent you the wrong ones.

well they did send the wrong ones, they dont know how cause they have never designed a header for the 01-04 cars. it must have been a screw up from the company that makes them for them. heck i dont know it does not matter its together and they said the tubing i came up with is more than good. other than that they look great and went in easy. as for sound we will see when they get me my computer back

So you have to rig up your brand new headers to make the AIR work?

I had this same issue with my headers....they sent the wrong ones.

It is an easy fix but does require the removal of the intake.

You can get the proper AIR pipe from the dealer. It screws into a fitting behind the intake.

In my case the mfg. was responsile for the mistake and reimbursed me for my additional expense.
