Lowering and you can cut the stock air box to get more air. Other than that you have to shell out the $$$

You can also do the throttle body bypass which is almost free.
About $2 worth of parts from pep boys, autozone etc.

You can paint the calipers with Rustoleum for about $8. Isn't free but is very cheap as far as mod prices go.

Hi Scott,
Do you recommend a throttle body bypass for a 02 C5 too?? If so, do you have any installation info on it?

You can aim your fog lamps higher than the factory setting and give your low-beam headlights a boost. Here is a link to instructions:

Here are two nearly free upgrade ideas that I like. Replace that junky looking, zinc coated license plate hardware with stainless steel hardware (from your local hardware store). If your state requires a front license plate, use the GM frame ($10) and color match it to your car with touch-up spray paint (about $5) available from GM. You won't be faster, just better looking.

The
best and easiest free mod I've found is running 1/8 of gas tank, especially during Saturday night. :D
That save at least 70lbs of weight.
