Default LED's Dash Lights/DIC/Headsup? Kits?

Anyone make either LED bulbs or a kit for the Dash? I want to make everything blue. I found a link of how to make your own, but was wondering if someone sells a premade kit or the LED's already prewired with resistors. I found a place that does the door handles and I bought that.

My dash is really weak and I would like to make it brighter.

Looking to do the dash and side pieces (HUD buttons and DIC buttons)

Pics and any links kindly appreciated.

forum member tstar gave allot of people on this forum all they needed to perform this mod. There are internet companies that sell LED's that will screw right in after you remove the stock bulb. You pay quite a bit more because you're paying for a new bulb housing and LED vise just the LED and resistor. A price difference of $2.99 per bulb vise .50 cents. Search for interior LED mod and go to page 31 and tstar provides a great shopping list. Shout out if you need any help. R/ Al

Neo - Wedge LED Instrument Panel Bulbs Type A, B & C
(Note to choose the correct bulb, measure the diameter of the base)

The Type "A" Neo Wedge fits the Dimmer/HUD and the Type "B" fits all the other switches in the car...

Did those bulbs need resistors too or are they just a simple swap out with these?

Ok so if anyone can give me information on how people are changing their clusters to be brighter and a different color, I would appreciate it. I have seen pictures and even spdkilz site shows it. Its been done, but yet I have not found a link anywhere.

Wow...this is nice...

So let me get this straight. The bulbs from the Autolumination site are the exact bulbs we need for this swap? Please take a look at this info and make sure I am right:

1. These bulbs have the resistors included, so we don't need to worry about them
2. Will require NO soldering for the DIC and Door Switches
3. Will be a direct fit with NO modifying

Does this sound right?

Also, this is the LED count..right?

1. 9 type A bulbs for the DIC ($3.00ea or $21 total)
2. 6 type B bulbs for the door switches ($1.50ea or $9 total)
----------------------------------------------
$30 total for DIC/Door Switches

Thanks!

Cool information!!! Now what about the HUD Controller.. it has two different sizes.. one base is black and the other is white. Which sizes are needed to replace both?

Yeah, trying to get people to give ALL the information in one source is difficult. I'm trying to get them to do that.

In addition to my previous post, what bulbs would we need for the interior foot lighting and the rear trunk area?

I also saw that the incandescent bulbs in the DIC and HUD Controllers are all have a blue plastic cover on each. I have no clue why other than possibly to tone down the light, but the buttons show up white.

OK here's the deal on this stuff... Sorry if I've seemed closed mouth it's just that I'm busy in a HUGE Thread dealing with the interior lighting;

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...588861&page=37

All the switches utilize a wedge base bulb, the stock incandescents have a blue silicone cover* that reduces the inherent yellow cast that incandescents have, the blue covers act much like the GE Reveal bulbs for your house. The HUD/Dimmer Switch pack uses a smaller Wedge base bulb (8mm) then the 10mm used through out the other switches. We talked the owner of autolumination.com into making those LEDs, he now stocks three different sizes. Type A, B and C, the Type A is for the HUD/Dimmer and Type B is for the rest of the switches.

The Footwell, Rear Cargo, Automatic Gear Selector and Underhood lights are all a Type 194 bulb which can be had in LED form from autolumination as well

The Mirror Maplights are year specific.
1997 – 2000**
2 ea. – Festoon 212-2 LED bulbs, 10mm wide x 44mm overall length. $9.99 ea.
http://autolumination.com/festoon.htm
2000** – 2004
12 ea. 3mm LEDs (No resistors)

**Note: For 2000s check your Map lights to see if you have the LED array or Festoon bulbs, I believe there may have been a cross over early in 2000.

I'll try and cut and paste a parts list that I made up;

LED Mod Parts List

This list is for a car optioned with HUD, Fog, Memory and a manual tranny. The Auto’s use a Type 194 for the Gear selection area.

If you’re doing Red you can replace the stock bulb covers with Red ones. Go to http://www.mcmaster.com/

In the Find Products window (upper left) type in 16925K11

For Bulb O'all Pkg.

G T1 1/8" 19/64" 5/32" 10 16925K11

Now the Main Gauges or IPC is a different story all together, I've gone around and around with it. Unlike traditional gauges that are lit from behind, ours is FRONT lit by two UV (Blacklight) bulbs. I've tried LEDs, tinting a spare lense red, Blacklight paint ect... The best solution is to swap out the faceplates with some custom ones. There are several out there, the reverse glow ELs look kick azz but I believe are not made anymore. I sent my spare IPC to Speedhut to be used as a template so they could make custom gauge faceplates for us but they require 25 pre-orders before they will begin tooling and no one pre-ordered! Check em out;

http://www.speedhut.com/15orders_el_...ber=104&bhcp=1

scroll down and design your own custom set!

Hopefully I answered all your questions!
