In my last post, I reported what sounded to me like a "valve knock" or "tick". I had a neighbor listen to the engine, it was semi-warm (coolant temp was about 145-150), and the hood was open. The sound sounded to me more like a school bus engine sound...it reminded me alot of the sound of a diesel engine, that's the best way for me to explain it.
Rev the engine lightly and it momentarily went away, then resurfaced again. I'm not sure if that still qualifies as the rocker arm being loose or what.
Hope this new information helps...but it's starting to make me paranoid .
Without hearing sound clip, hard to say for sure -- but I'm going to vote for lifter noise. Might try some of the additives that promise to quiet it down.
