An unusual LSx block question
This is admittedly a bit odd. I have access to several GM LSx blocks, casting number 12561168. From what little research I've done thus far, this is the block that was used in all LS6 engines and a certain (small) percentage of LS1 engines. These are brand new blocks but here's the kicker. They have the steel cylinder liners in place but beyond that, no machining has been done to them. There are no bolt holes in the blocks anywhere, no main caps and the crank and cam bores, etc. have not been finished beyond the casting process. It's a long story about how these came into being (but it's legit!) but my question is, I wonder if these would be of any interest to serious engine builders who are building these for all-out applications or whatever?
