Partially collapsed lifter?
Hey all! I've been checking around about the light "tapping" that's happening under my hood...it could be the result of a partially collapsed lifter...anyone able to give me some details regarding cost and/or how to fix and some details?

I would be more suspicious of a rocker losing its roller bearings than a lifter. Lifters are pretty reliable unless something has happened to cause a problem. If you only have one tapping, pull the valve cover and check the rockers. This is a known issue with these rockers and a lot of guys have had them dump their bearings.

I think I may have this same issue. I get a tapping nosie then when I shift to the next higher gear the tapping goes away until I get to the limit of that gear then the tapping is loud but then i shift to next higher gear and its gone again. will watch replys to you for help.
