checking wipe pattern
ok a little background for this question. car is an 01 Z06. I am installing a new cam and along with that, I also installed new dual springs and hardened push rods. Stock rockers and stock heads. Question is, do I need to check the wipe pattern having stock rockers? I hear that because of the stock rockers, the wipe pattern will be fairly large due to the rocker not being a roller rocker. oh and the cam is a 232/234 with a .598/.593 lift. Thanks in advance

With the stock rockers and stock heads, the setup will be the same since you haven't changed anything. The problem you run into is the higher lift will push the rocker tip closer to the outside of the valve stem because the installed setup is the same but you are making the rocker rotate through a larger angle. Best to check the wipe, but the stock units are very hard to correct and not very consistent from rocker to rocker. I gave up when I installed my current Dart heads and installed a set of Cranes instead. On the AFR's I will be installing, I decided to try a set of Yella Terra's.

Yea, thats what I thought. Thanks for the reply, it confirms what I got when I checked the wipe pattern. eventually I will get roller rockers.
