Default Which starter?

So many choices... RockAuto lists the following for an '01:

NSA Part # STR2606 More Info {New} - $129.89

SPECTRA PREMIUM Part # 6482 {remanufactured} Remy; #9000866;PG260 - $97.79

BECK/ARNLEY Part # 1896114, Starter, New, 1.7 Kilowatt;Starter Gauge Is Recommended For Proper Fit - $160.99

BECK/ARNLEY Part # 1876114 More Info
Starter, Remanufactured, 1.7 Kilowatt;Starter Gauge Is Recommended For Proper Fit - $129.79

REMY Part # 25062 More Info {Remanufactured} - $135.79

ACDELCO Part # 3361922 More Info {#19136231}
STARTER,(REMAN) DELCO PMGR (1.7 KW) - $174.79

ACDELCO Part # 3231063 More Info {remanufactured #10465385}, STARTER,(REMAN) - $190.79

BOSCH Part # SR8581N -$142.79

CARDONE SELECT Part # 396492SN - $201.99

BOSCH Part # SR8581X Reman - $128.79

REMY Part # 96220 More Info {Remy New Gold} - $214.79

So is there really any difference? I don't really mind the core charge, but $129 for a new NSA brand... Hmmm... Any brands I should AVOID?

TIA,
Vaughn

I would recommend avoiding Cardone and Spectra.

Delco, Bosch and Beck-Arnley have good track records overall. Personally, I prefer new, but if I was forced to go reman I would go either Delco or Bosch.

HTH

BTW, by reman, I mean one that is actually remanufactured by Delco, Bosch, etc. All GM starters are Delco as OEM and you need to be careful someone is not selling something as "Delco" reman but the reman process of a Delco starter was perfomed by someone else.

I've had very poor performance from reman starters and alternators from places like Autozone, etc. Oh, they'll give you another one but you have to eat the labor. I got a starter from my local dealer for $225 but no shipping. A bit more than I wanted to pay but, it is a Vette.

Thanks for the input guys. It looks like the BOSCH Part # SR8581N for $142.79 is the way to go... Bosch (good brand) and NEW for only $14 more than the Bosch reman...

I'll report when I get it.
Cheers,
Vaughn
