I found at least one problem. The disk ground against the ARP flywheel bolts. Now I have to either get an entire new clutch or a new disk and then have the clutch balanced. Sorry for the crappy pics but here they are:

I have one and ECS recommends using factory flywheel bolts.

No problems with mine other than the rattle when the clutch is depressed.

Well that sucks....

Honestly though Im not really sure you need to do anything besides swapping out the flywheel bolts. I would need some better pics but I dont think there is enough damage on the rivets to warrant doing anything. Keep in mind all the forces applied to that component are in shear load (sideways) not fore and aft. Looks like there is plenty of meat on the rivets from what I could see in those slightly fuzzy pics.

By the way, that was undoubtedly your problem....you need to look no further. The disc was hanging up even with the pressure plate released which was causing the drag and poor engagement issues.

Good luck....get some advice from Pete and Jarrod, but IMO it doesnt look all that bad.

Tony

Glad to see you have found it. I can't imagine having to do mine a second time immediately after the first. Hope you get squared away.

Based on the photo's, check the pilot real good to make sure no chips are in it. Wouldn't want to see you have to pull apart again in a few months for that.

Don't forget the remote bleeder.

Got it back in with stock crank bolts. Had plenty of clearance when clutch was depressed. I still have to hang the headers, tunnel plate and xpipe. Will have that tomorrow night. Will update at that time.

Thanks for everyones support and ideas.

WOW TX that is major! I've heard of this happening to Twin Disc clutches with ARP bolts. I guess I'll be using my factory ones on my Spec Twin .

I was lucky, I asked Chris at ECS what to use as I thought I would use the ARP bolts too and he said to use the stock one's.

Glad I listen.

Glad to hear that you got it working.
