I'm focusing on getting a set of Addco sway bars from Summit. Price v. performance is my reasoning. I'm not going to race my C5, just want something to add to the street driving handling. I'm putting C6 Z06 shocks on and want to add sway bars also.
There's some but not a lot of info out there on the use of hollow v. solid front sway bars. Addco makes both, both the same price. Before I place my order, does anyone have experience with either or both solid and hollow sway bars from Addco??
Go with the hollow bar. The hollow bar will be lighter in weight for the same stiffness. lighter is better. I have a Addco front hollow bar and it works just fine.
Appreciate the 1 opinion but I'm looking for a few more to make certain. Hard to go back to the wife a second time for approval to do it different. bump
The solid would be serious overkill on your setup. I think it is to much sway bar for any thing if you need that much bar your spring rates are way off
Thanks Dale C. That's the kind of response I need to make sense of this issue. I'm opting for the hollow bars. I was going for the solid until you made sense of the issue.
What's the weight difference between the hollow and the solid bar?
From what I've read, the hollow has a little more "give" but not a big amount. As I'm street driving only, I suspect I wouldn't notice the difference however, since the solid and hollow are exactly the same price I wonder if I should just get the solid one? Quandary!!
