i am with my buddy and his car started to shut down. its a 99 frc. once we got off the expressway the car would only idle. any gas or putting it into gear would kill it. no ses lights and no real codes. it is now to the point where it wont even start. it turns over no problem though. just wont stay running. it was running flawlessly until we got off the expressway to gas up and get food. yes, its got a full tank too.
any clue to whats wrong. its now sitting at the chevy dealer and we are waiting to get ripped off.

Check the codes at the DIC. Also, throw a gauge on the schrader valve, and see what kind of fuel pressure you have. I've got one if you guys need to borrow it.
had a couple various codes on dic. i reset them and dont really remember what they were. one was a b1001h off the sdm tried resetting the battery and unplugging sensors. who knows. either fuel, pcm, or spark. should be simple, right. we are not in the midwest, we are in cali
Dump the codes and post them .... a B1001 shows that the car had either the PCM, BCM, or (most likely) SDM replaced some time in the past. Was this car ever in a wreck ?? That's the most likely reason for a B1001.
Sounds like a possible security issue ... is the SECURITY light on or blinking while starting the engine, or with the engine running ?? Any messages on the DIC such as SERVICE COLUMN LOCK ???
Sounds like you were in LIMP HOME MODE and the DTCs would pin that one down.
Get the car to do the problem again and read a current set of codes. If you have a defective TAC module, sometimes you can reset the DTC,s on the fly and cause the car to re-enter the normal mode. My 98 had this issue and it was caused by a BAD TAC MODULE.
I could clear the DTC's and it would run correctly for a while. If the Throttle Actuation Circuit has a bad component, you not going to be able to clear the issue until you fix the bad component fixed.
Clear all the DTC, start the car and if the problem persist, read the codes and post all of them again.
