ok so i just installed NGK iridium IX plugs and MSD wires, the computer had a blast trying to reset, but my question is after i did the install the RPMs at idle are very sporadic and drop to about 400 and back up again, has anyone else had a problem when they did similar upgrade? also on a side note is there a block on the fuel line when disconnected? since there is no return line i thought when i took off the braided fuel line from the rails it would shoot fuel everywere, not a drop!
The first thing I would check is to make sure all of the plug wires are tight, if they are then ditch the MSD wires and go back to factory.
I personally had a problem with MSD wires on my 03 Coupe and I know I have read on this forum several other members who had problems after installing these.
As far as the fuel issue goes, if your car has sat overnight before disconnecting the fuel line, you may not get any fuel out of the line when disconnecting it.
the spark plug and wire right behind the brake booster gave me the most trouble, and i didnt seat the boot all the way the first time and misfired, but i cleared the code took off the coil railing and i was able to push it all the way in, i checked the rest of the plugs and wires and they are all in properly. the idol is rough at start up but when i give it some gas it is really smooth so i think i might have to do with my fuel pump?
Ok, so now comes the question, was it idling this way before you changed the plugs? Correct plug? Correct plug gap?
If it is a NEW problem after the wires/plug install--chances are that a plug gap got accidently closed when installing it--OR a wire is NOT on all the way--You need to hear a double clik on the coil end--Also--the MSD wires are known to have issues with the boot popping off or not snapping on correctly
If you dis connected the battery to do the install-- the fuel trims were probably re-set and will have to re-learn the idle all over again--the more mods you have the longer it takes--can take up to 100 miles sometimes-------If you have a scanner -check you LTFT's at idle--

Ok, I'll ask.....why did you disconnect the fuel rail to change plugs and wires?
