Default Best clutch for this set up

I know, I know, another clutch thread but it's part of my next mod and I want to make the right selection to match my set up and use.

I 'm running at 446 RWHP and 415 RWTQ with my 04 Mn6 Coupe. Since the head, cam and header install the clutch woes have begun. It's all the soft pedal, stuck pedal you read about. High RPM quick shift from 1 - 2 and the pedal goes soft. Throw 2- 3 and it stays low. Pull it up with the clutch foot and go 3 - 4. No grinding or inability to change gears just the pedal problem. I have changed out the fluid reservoir 16 times and it still gets burnt and black deposits.

So now I need the solution and it will be part of next round of mod's to include suspension work, 390 gears and clutch. Also going to add intake and 90 mm tb before tuning.

I want to maintain best streetability and will be tracking 3-4 times a year and I'm a little hard on clutches. So what is the best match to this set up.

I've narrowed it down to TexOZ700 X grip and RPS stage3 single. Also I will likely go with new Z06 slave, bearing and master and heat wrap the lines and install remote bleeder.

Anyone with experience with these clutches that has some feed back it would be greatly appreciated as always. If you think there is a better choice, tell me what and why. Also would like thoughts on the slave and the other clutch stuff.

i have an exedy twin disc- it is way too much pedal pressure (unless you want one large calf muscle) as compared to the ls7 clutch- i had installed a ls7 clutch (bought everything from gene) in my 00 frc- the car was road raced by the owner i sold it to, and in the past year it changed hands again to another owner who also beats the crap out of it on a regular basis. my car made 400+ rwhp a bit less than yours but in 15k hard, and i mean very hard road racing- drag racing miles the ls7 clutch never failed....

Textrailia Single is all you need.

I ran that clutch with 460 rwhp last year on many road race tracks. I took it out to upgrade to an ECS LS7-427 and I was amazed that the clutch still looks new. Granted that road racing is less harsh on clutches and me learning how to heel/toe probably helped, but I had other clutches look much worse in the same time period.

Hey Wicked Weasel

Thanks for the feed back. What grip was that clutch?

I have the x-grip and like it very much. 1,100 RPM and it feels like stock, no chatter. You will get a little bit of chatter at low RPM though, but you will quickly learn what it likes. Slightly more pedal effort but nothing bad.

Is the 'X' grip a six puck?
