Default Twin Disc Exo slipping

After a 500 mile break in, I started beating on the clutch some. Everything was great for a few weeks, but I then tried to do a 3rd gear clutch dump at 40mph like I used to with my spec stage 4 in the WS6 all the time. It spun the clutch. Ever since then, its gotten worse and worse. I talked to Miami with the red Z06, who had the same problems. One of the selling points of this clutch was supposed to be how it was rebuildable, where others are not. I have talked to a few different places. All of them have just put the hands in the air saying to buy a new one. . Any insight on what I can do?

The clutch feels great driving around town, but a stock one would slip less then this thing is. (slips at 3/4 throttle with my h/c/built engine N/A autocross car)

Was it brand new when you installed it?

I would recommend you contact Jarrod Cunningham on this board either way honestly....

If it was used before you got your hands on it thats a bit more difficult becuase you dont know how the last guy treated it and spreaking of that why would you do a 3rd gear clutch dump anyway (at 40 MPH)....thats certainly no way to treat a fairly new clutch (its not the miles the designate a broken in clutch by the way, its how much slipping and seat time the materials have against one another....meaning 100 miles of city traffic driving is far more effecting than 500 miles in the country with alot less starting and stopping).

Anyway....bottom line is get with Jarrod (he's basically their Rep here in the States and a stand up member of this board and others) and see what he's willing to do for you. Textralia has good customer service but you do have more of a unique situation.

Good luck,
Tony

I bought my Textralia twin from ECS. They are rebuildable. Maybe contact Chris over at ECS and they can help you.

BTW, Have you pulled the bell-housing inspection plate to check out the clutch.

I would look and see if you have a main seal leak or some other problem. Unfortunetely that means dropping the drive line.

What bolts did you use on the flywheel?

The reason he is asking what bolts you used on the flywheel is because if you used ARP, you have a problem. They are too tall and screw up this clutch! You must have the factory bolts in the flywheel or something as shallow as the factory bolts.

I saw some pics of the disc hitting the ARP bolts.

Ride42 posted up our correct information. The best way to get in touch with us is via email. admin@textralia.com.au We can go over your issue with you, and see what can be done.

And you are correct, the Exo-skel is designed to be re-buildable. Let me know how we can further assist you.

Yup that was mine.

Have you tried bleeding the system again? This could help. Also if so, how did you bleed the system?

Why are you doing 3rd gear clutch dumps??

More info please.........

I removed the clutch. My ARP flywheel bolts were "reworked" but the disc looks fine.

After 500+ miles of city driving, a clutch is typically broken in (this isn't my first break in of a clutch, just my first unsuccessful one). The clutch was "used" previously, but looked brand new (very minor marks on the friction discs, and next to nothing on the plates), so I installed it into my car.

ECS and Textralia, thank you VERY much for trying to assist me. I will call you both when I get a chance. I'm glad we have some shops here willing to help,

Looks like I am going on vacation for trying to get my problem figured out.

Again, I was not "looking for a hand out". I was looking to see if they could sell me a new set of discs, or if this was a common problem. I was brushed off, so I came here looking for my answer.

I have quoted and highlighted the below to clarify this was a USED unit....as I understand it Textralia is working with this person to resolve the issue despite the fact it was purchased USED.
