hey guys if anyone could give me some advise i would really appreciate it i am currently in the market for new heads. i dont wanna go nuts and get tfs tea or afr im lookin more or less @ prc ls6 stg1, prc 5.3 2.5's or livernois stg1/2 does anyone have any advise on which head i can expect the most power from top end...i currently have a ms4 in the car and stock 243's with dual springs and chromoly 7.4 rods...my question is...1)i dont wanna flycut...which head will work
2)what head will put out the best numbers up top
3)what kind of gains can i expect with anyone of these heads over stock 243's?

ps..with this cam i should probably be looking for midrange power i know but im lookin for overall power...i currently make 443 403 on mustang dyno...i will be havin my fast 90/90 ported and 25% ud pulley put on what do you think i will put down?

Do not know where you are located. A good shop should be able to cnc or 243 heads -they are great - you'll need double springs, etc but you've got the right building block to git 'er done!!!

^^I think this is good advice. With a cam that big you do not want to reduce the combustion chamber size because you will run into piston to valve clearance issues. A set of ported and polished 243 heads should flow nicely.

Yeah, and totally unbiased, too. J/K, AFRs are great heads, just pricey compared to stock casting based ones the post starter is interested in...

to be honest, if your making 443 to the rear tires now.... i dont see how you will gain anything...i spoke with cartek and vett dr's on several occasions....most of them agree 450 is about it with a mild cam and "ported ls6 heads"

from another post
Typically we see about 100 RWHP gain from Stage 2 Heads, our Stage 2 Cam, Kooks Longtube Headers & X-Pipe w/ Cats, and CAI.

Please see the graph below from a 2005 C6 6-Speed

this is from livernois post on his 243 heads for sale

- your already 440????? i would try a different dyno...i dont see how you are there with just a cam.

It depends on his cam and other supporting bolt-on's. Our dyno is said to be somewhat conservative. A stock C6 Z06 typically makes 440 RWHP and a stock C6 6-Speed typically makes around 340 RWHP.

my buddy dynoed 459 uncorrected, and finished with 448 rwhp weather corrected, he has AR headers with cats, Hurricane intake, the HPE type S Cam, and underdrive pulley.. thats just cam only with necassary valvetrain upgrade, with no head work, or intake manifold work..

im doing same thing but have LG pro headers, and Stinger intake, but im going with a MS3 cam and the livernois stage 2 heads, and underdrive pulley, i should see about 470 rwhp

i agree, numbers sound fishy for a mustang dyno... dynojet? i can see it with an ms4, maybe under the right conditions/parts. but on a stang dyno? eh, thats iffy... hmmmmmmmmm... not calling you a liar, but the numbers are high for a mustang dyno with your mods. dynojet, i could believe.

guys bottom line this car hauls. fran @ race proven motorsports built it and i ran a best of 11.9 @ 126 with a 2.2 60' on STREET TIRES. when i first had the ms4 put in it was somethin like 405 390 and ran a 12.0 @120 and that was just longtubes and a cai still stock ls6 intake manifold. and 78mm tb with a 2.2 60' dont believe me? aski him his shop is Race proven motorsports on ls1tech also now its got a ported fast 90/90 25% underdrive pulley and im gonna order the livernois stg2 heads really soon...i cant wait to see what this thing does!! and yes i know a 2.2 60 sucks but i got my bfg drag radials on now havent tracked it yet since those were put on tho.
