If you'll look at what is replaced with the rocking seat fix, you'll see that it really fixes a sliding seat. The rubber bushings on either side of the lead screw nuts deteriorates or wears and allows the seat to slide forwards and rearwards and the fix is to replace with nylon washers.

I think the rocking seat and the sliding seat are really different problems. The fore and aft motion is due to deterioration of the rubber spacer in the fore-aft positioner as mentioned. The rocking is due to looseness in the front height adjuster. There are posts for both problems. My rubber bushings in the fore-aft adjuster were fine but I had a rocking seat. I forget what I did, but I tightened the front height mounting.
