I'd add that you buy the spray caliper paint from Advance Auto or similar parts store. Pick up a can of high temperature Black Primer as well. I did mine in place. I did remove the caliper and the pads then put the caliper back in place. Used brown paper under the caliper between it and the rotor. Covered the rest of the rotor and suspension parts with plastic bags and tape. Cleaned everything with a wire brush then sprayed clean with brake clean. Then sprayed a couple coats of primer. Let dry and then a few coats of red. While the pads were off I cleaned the backs of the pads and sprayed them with Black Primer as well. I can't stress hard enough to cover everything with sheets, blankets, drop cloths,or material. I picked up some ugly thick clearance material at Walmart for .50 a yard in the sewing department.
Anyways I just wanted to add the use of Primer isn't mentioned(or I missed it) and makes all the difference. And also spraying the backs of the pads. What I did for the letters was pick up an assortment of brushes at walmart which had some fine line brushes. I sprayed some Primer in the cap and hand painted the now red letters black. Screw scraping or sanding the letters. My job took about 3 hours for the 4 wheels.
Good luck and You will be impressed with the look if you take your time.

You are right - I did not mention - nor use - primer when I did the several cars I have done.
That can only help - as the primer will help the paint stick.
Since the calipers are relatively porous, they soak the paint up and in my experience the Dupli-Color adheres very well.
That said, it is always a good thing to go to the effort of using primers.
