Not sure if this helps you out. I have the LPE ported LS6 heads with 2.02 & 1.57 valves, milled to 62cc. My int valve drop is .180,
and the exh valve drop is .205. This is with the .052 GM MLS gaskets. I just installed the LG G5X3 114 LSA camshaft. My int ptv
is .056, and the exh ptv is .112.

Wowa! .052 mama, that's as close as I've herd, that's less than the thickness of the head gasket.

Nice setup man

Did you use any type of specalized aftermarket timing chain or parts that allow you to use this tight tolerance? (I guess good valve springs so they don't float..)

Thanks for the reply and info....

I thought I read somewhere that LPE wasn't doing the CNC work for Edelbrock anymore, wonder if that is true it may be the reason you can't get an answer. Have you tried Edelbrock?

I'm going to give edelbrock a call as well as Texas Speed, to see if they might be able to give me some insight from their experience with their terminator heads. Jason and the guys are helpful and know their products upside down.

If TSP has a set in stock, they may even measure it for you.

West Coast Cylinder Heads also CNC's the Edelbrock LS1 Pro-port castings. Richard and Dave at WCCH answered all my questions. Their customer service is one of the main reasons I bought my heads from them. You might want to give them a call.

Hey man,

Thanks so much for your recommendation of west coast cylinder heads. Richard was able to help me out in 2 seconds. He knew the free drop stock and what it was with larger valves, 2 sizes, 2.055 and 2.08, just off the top of his head.

This is what I'm talking about!!!!!!!!! A real craftsman knows their products any which way and boy did he. He didn't try to sell me anything, we just talked about what worked with the ls engines.

When I was on their sight I saw a LSW head that flowed 400 cfm on the intake !!!!!!!!!

Richard and West coast cylinder heads had no obligation to help me, but they did and with no waiting on the phone or shuffeling of papers or transfering the call. One number and bam! answer.

If you guys are thinking of buyinbg heads, give these guys a shot, I sure am.

Thanks for the recommendation mathia.

Default Lingenfelter Edelbrock CNC head measurements

I received your voicemail yesterday afternoon shortly before having to leave work early. I tried calling you back earlier today but got your voicemail (and left you a message).

As I mentioned in my voicemail, I am not familiar with the term "free valve drop length" (the term you used in your voicemail). I asked several other people at LPE and this is not a term we are familiar with.

If you are referring to the valve depth (the distance from the deck surface to the valve as measured perpendicular to the deck surface), I can get you those measurements for the Lingenfelter Edelbrock CNC ported 203 CC heads.

The measurements I would be able to provide would be from when we were performing the valve job work, surfacing and assembly on the heads (along with the CNC porting). We only do the CNC porting now but the heads should be built to the same assembly/machining specifications.

If those are not the measurements you are looking for, please clarify the terminology and I would be happy to get you the measurements.

PS - I am the person you left a voicemail for and I am an engineer (one of the three engineers at LPE).

Regards,

I originally posted the below statement because I was frustrated with both lingenfelter, who at least answered the phone but new nothing about their product (head sales guy too is what the receptionist said). They then transfered me to their engineer (sure he is) whom I left a message for but never returned my call. In all fairnes at least they had a pulse as edelbrock won't even ansewr the phone (try calling the tech line and it will just say call volume is too high and hangs up on you from 7am to 5pm pst )

SO thanks again Richad and WCCH and everyone for their help....enjoy the rest of the post!

I'm unable to find the free drop of intake and exhaust valve on the Lingenfelter poreted edelbrock heads.

I called them up, but the person I spoke with did not know but "recommend" a cam for them w/o listening to the application or issue. Beyond this there was silence and he said he could not get the info. spetacular sign me up for one of your $10000 500hp turbo packeges that you must know so much about. Cutting edge, 500 hp from a turbo, wow! you must have to de-tune it to get that little.

Any help would be great. Lingenfelter? Lingenfelter? Either of the other 2 of you guys out there who have these know?

Free drop intake .1??
