Hey, I just bought a 2000 coupe. Problem is the oil pressure guage is pegged at 80 psi and the digital reading on the dash information center is reading 130 psi. There must be something wrong with the guage or sending unit or the car wouldn't run with that much pressure. The corvette store I bought it from said they all do that at some time and almost always it is an intermitant problem. He thought that it was fixed about in 2002. Does anyone know what has to be done while it is still under warantee?

Yeah, change the oil pressure sensor. I can't speak to the intermittent part, typically once they peg high..they stay that way.
Replacement is not easy, the intake manifold must come off. Shops charge $250 - 400 for this job. There are excellant DIY instructions here if you search for them. I think the "sticky"at the top of this section has it.
Make sure whoever does it, uses the proper torque (15 ft-lbs) and cleans the electrical connector if it is oily. Otherwise, you WILL be replacing the new one soon. Also the small "soda straw" vaccuum line at the back of the manifold must be connected or your HVAC vents won't operate correctly.
Good luck !
