Title says it all. Code came up and this is what it stands for. I have no clue as to what it means. Anyone?
If you post the actual code number it is easy to look up ..... I'm not searching 3,000 plus pages of the service manual for this .... if you post the DTC number (C1234H) then the Service Manual index takes us directly to the correct diagnostic info .....
The ambient light sensor is a part of your "Twilight Sentinal" system .... it turns on your headlights when it gets dark .....

I remember reading that the HVAC system uses the ambient light sensor as well.
For the OP - sounds like you may need a new ambient light sensor, or perhaps it is obscured in some way?
best regards -

Close ... literally ......
There are two sensors mounted in the "grill" in the center of the dashboard directly below the windshield.
One sensor is the "Ambient Light" sensor and it is used to control the headlights (Twilight Sentinal) to turn them on and off automatically.
The other sensor (dome shaped) is an infrared sensor. It measures the "sun load" that is coming through the windshield, and the HVAC system uses this to determine how much hot/cold air to pull in when the HVAC is in AUTO mode. Couple of examples of how this works .... let's take a hot day where it is 90 degrees outside ... but in one case it is a clear day and in the other case it is heavily overcast. The HVAC realizes, based on the IR coming through the windshield, that it needs to generate more cold air to maintain cabin temperature on a clear day than it needs to maintain the same temperature on an overcast day.
Oh! I get it, it's a backwards game. I say either a B2647 or a B2648.
I'm real sorry guys, and your funny..a backwards game, lol. The code that came up was "B2647" which told me about the "ambient circuit low"
I have nothing on the dash blocking the sensor and I don't use the "twilight" feature. Main reason being I keep the lids down on the lights until they are needed! My A/c works too. Well it's not real hot outside so I can't tell too much, but it does work.
If it is the sensor, is it hard to replace and do I really need to do this..I don't use the twilight feature
The B2647 indicates that the light sensor is either shorted to ground, or is "open" (a broken/disconnected wire). The sensor is easy to replace, but it is more likely a wiring issue.
If you don't use the Twilight Sentinal feature, you can ignore this DTC, as that is the only thing the sensor controls.
