HELP!!!! Slight Engine Noise

I have a slight ticking noise on the top of the motor. It sounds like it is just below the intake. I was told that I might have a lifter issue. Would someone please explain the symptoms of a bad lifter? If someone has another diagnosis, i'm all ears. I hope that i'm not asking a dumb question

Check the rockers, they have been known to throw bearings and will cause a tick. Also, make sure you are not hearing an injector, they can be quite loud as well.

the rockers are solid. it is louder than an injector tick. I appreciate your suggestion. you always seen to come up with a good plan! Thanks
