Default Yaw Rate Sensor Bias Circuit Malfunction ?

28 - TCS: C1282H -Yaw Rate Sensor Bias Circuit Malfunction

I got this DTC and a glyph on the instrument panel after my car did a sudden lunge to the right at high speed. Conditions where perfect, straight, flat, dry, etc. Turning the car off and on cleared the instrument panel icon, I cleared the code later and drove for a half hour in the mountains with no issues. Not sure really what to do about this or how to fix it. I am afraid to wait to see if it happens again as it nearly killed me. No other codes were set at this time.

I am assuming if the Active Handling had actually come on to save me from something in the normal fashion it wouldn't have set an error code in the computer. Any information would be great. Thanks.

I posted in your other thread (the one that got locked) and guessed the SWPS was the culprit. It is rare to see a yaw rate sensor error posted.

You have a couple of cuhoices .... one is to ignore the problem and assume it was a momentary glitch. The other choice is to replace the yaw rate sensor.

The sensor GM part number 25737829 and list price is $363.84

The sensor is located in the dashboard ... it is directly below the HVAC/radio stack, and after pulling the console and the bolsters on the drivers right side it is fairly easy to replace.

You shouldn't have to worry about it activating again, until you cycle the key... like you did

The diagnostics for that code lead to a circut repair, bad yaw sensor or bad EBCM.

No mention of the SWPS being involved.

The wires in that dash area are very small and subject to damage. I would check the wires and connector on that sensor for any signs of damage.
