Help Help I need Clutch help ASAP!!
Hey guys I got some bad news from the wife today. I appears the clutch has crapped in my vette, and I leaving for R&R in to drive it for the first time.
So I need recommendations for a light weight(aluminum) flywheel and clutch that will take a little abuse and is more budget oriented, and ready to bolt on outta the box.
Car is a 2000 coupe, with a CAI and Ti Catback. In the future I am going to add headers and 100-150 hp dry shot.
Any one got some ideas, I would like to be around 500 bucks if its at all possible. If some one knows of a place that gives Military discount that would be helpful as well.
Please feel free to PM or email me with ideas if they are to non sponsors.
I would like to get this done in the next day or so. She is going to baby it home and I'll change it out as soon as I ge there.
Thanks in advance
Troy

best bang for the buck and lightweight is Fidanza aluminum flywheel and Centerforce dual friction clutch. G/ L
or just go LS7 clutch and flywheel, heavy but strong and pretty cheap

Thank you brother
Would you happen to have a link to the best deal for the fidanza/Cf?
Would this be DD friendly and would my wife complain about it being grabby? I had a 6 puck sprung hub clutch in my supra that I loved, and she hated
Would this package be balaced and ready to go out of the box?
Thanks for the quick response

Can a vendor hook a brother up with a package that includes a slave cylinder? I have a remote bleeder already.

Hey couple more questions.
Is an Exedy Twin disc dailey driveable? Or are they too grabby?
What about a Spec Stage 3?
Reason I ask is I have found both, brand new and in my budget.

The auction site
I might have found a couple cheaper, just have to wait for a response from them
As far as balacing, do I need to balance the new setup exactley like the stock set up. Or can I zero balance it??

The Exedy is basically on-off, doesn't like to be slipped. I think the above recommendations are much better. For the GM parts, just contact Gene Culley or one of the forum GM vendors. Make sure your setup is compatible with the ARP bolts, I believe the above recommendations are but I know the dual Textralia isn't.

I take it you have an aluminum flywheel on the car now......it will change the driving characteristics.

Wow thats a good deal.
I just bought the centerforce Dual friction 12" clutch, fidanza aluminum flywheel, slave cylinder, master cylinder, pilot bearing, remote bleeder, flywheel bolts, pressure plate bolts for $1000.80 shipped.
Does everyone with this setup like it?
