Just picked up my vararam VRB2 and am going to tackle the install tommorow. My question is anyone that has one did it really make a difference in performance? I am sure I wont be able to feel a difference but I mean at the strip.1/4 mile times Thanks in advance for your response.
i put one on my Z about a month ago, you will feel a seat of the pants difference, but it takes about 100 mile for the ecm to recalibrate, it took 2 tenths of the quarter mile times!
I installed VRb2 last summer. Can't say that I felt a difference. However, after doing a performance tune with a predator I can really feel the difference. I suggest getting a tune (dyno or handheld) after Vararam install.
Are you using a rack to install or just ramps/jackstands? Hopefully a rack, otherwise plan on spending a few hours on your back.

I bought mine from some guy with a z06. He "helped me" install it!
I installed mine in Feb, I'm not sure how much SOTP it gave me because I had a gear install before I got a chance to drive it. I believe it is a good mod because cooler ambient air is a good thing. I used cajundudes instructions and it took me a good 5 hours but I am not a mechanic by any means. I could do it much faster the 2nd time around.
I though the install was easy and fast. I did it on jack stands and on my back took maybe hour and a half. Dont know ab out SOTP yet still slat on the roads, and it just F&%$# snowed last night I did use a K&N filter with it though did not like the looks of the vararam filter and trimmed the K&N to fit perfect and then used truck cap foam to get a positive seal on the intake.
VaraRam!! The hp gains with all intakes will vary. I can attest that with this VaraRam, my "azzdyno" could definitely tell a difference in throttle response.
You will definitely see a SOTP diference. Use cajundudes instructions. If you use the K&N filter, remember, that it must be oiled before use so it properly functions.Buy a K&N cleaning kit for around $15 at Pep Boys, and check the filter from time to time, and clean and reoil as per the instructions with the kit. You will like this mod. Also, a tune will definitely help. They say that the car will reprogram itself , but a tune does make a difference, and is worth it.
Thanks for all you replies.I installed it today and drove it.Its been so long since I have driven it I really cant tell in the sotp department but it did feel faster. Installing it was a pain in my you know what by the way. I guess if I had to do it again I could do it alot faster but I just took my time. Another question did any of you have an issue with the stick on foam? I dont think it fits right and am thinking of doing something with it. Input from the experts?? Thanks again and hurry up spring Ohio weather sucks.

I think this goes with what people say about the quality control with these units. The foam was coming off on mine, but I repositioned it, and it stuck OK. You brought up a good point, and it might not be a bad idea to get some self-stick foam insulation strips at Lowe's or Home Depot, and replace the stock material for a better seal.
