Anybody have HRE's on their Vettte??? They look great but I just found a bunch of the bolts are leaking air on one wheel. Any sugggestions besides sending back to the manufacturer for rehab??
I have HREs and they are beautiful. I get many compliments. But I did have one start to slowly leak a couple years ago. Leaking at one tiny spot in the groove between the pieces held by the screws. I tried some clear silicone in the groove which may have helped some, but not a good solution. It started as about 2-3 lbs of pressure every few days and I would top it off daily. Mine got worse and eventually I sent it back to HRE. It was chromed and apparently they don't offer this any more, so it took about 5-6 weeks to get it back, and I hate to say it, but it still leaked. So back it went again. I would have thought they'd pressure check it some how as part of their QC process. HRE turned it quickly the second time and its been fine ever since. They took full responsibility for it other than shipping to them the first time. At the time it was my daily driver. I used mass transit for nearly 6 weeks before picking up another car. I have never heard anyone else with this problems, so it must be rather rare. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Good luck.
Thanks for the info---how old was the wheel when it had the problem?? Mine are about 7 yeaars old and when I mentioned it to Vince he said he would charge about $100 plus parts. Thanks again.

I had a leak and sent it back to HRE and they were unbelievably slow and they lost a sensor. Last year I damaged two rims and I had them repaired at Wheel Collision Center in Bath, PA and they put new silicone seals on all four and re chromed them and they did a great job, mine are about six years old.
