Default just installed ls7 clutch...

and the pedal is low. It works fine I can go up through the gears without a bit of grinding but it engages just off the floor. At this point it is hard to slip, it is either on or off. Just wanted to get some opinions before I go adjusting things. For more info I put in all new parts ls7 pressure plate, disc, fidanza aluminum FW, TO + pilot bearing, remote bleeder, ram adjustable clutch master, and had the whole assembly balanced to race spec good for 15,000 rpm the whole combo is 7 LBS lighter than stock ls1 assembly, between that and the balance the car revs up fast! Anyway like I said the pedal engages very low and took some getting used to just to get the car to go. It was also very weird bleeding it, I used a might vac pump and it bleed easy but at first would not comeback up on its own then on the next pump it worked fine anyone know what thats about? oh and the drill mod, I went to do this but it had already been done or is there even a drill mod on our cars? I know about f bodys and such but there was no resrtiction in my line.

I don't know anything but I'd look at the clutch master/slave... Have you bled them?? I suspect air in the line..

Default LS 7 Clutch

I noticed you have the Ram adjustable master - I have this also - not yet installed - but you have to use parts from your exsisting master to assemble this one - that tells me lots of bleeding required. Maybe still have some air in there - if not start adjusting master to bring height up. Just my take on it -

I ran the LS7 in my 346 and added a Cartek adjustable master. Same as the RAM adjustable.

I know a few others that run the LS7 clutch and reported that it does come up after some miles.

I run a RAM Dual Street in my 403 now.

My Textralia OZ700 engaged just off the floor when first installed also, we bled it again (thank god I had a remote bleeder installed) after 100 miles or so and then it slowly came up to engaging just past the half way point...

My LS7 was real close to the floor also. It come back to normal after a little use. Just be patient.

Same thing happened to me. Then once it adjusted..on it's own, it started sticking at high rpm's. I hated that clutch. I would NEVER do another one again.

Bleed that sucker until your blue in the face, then use he adjustable master to bring the pedal up. Once it starts coming up on its own you can use the adjustable master to drop it back down to a comfortable height.
