Smoked Clutch
I posted this on a diifferent site and thought I would see what responses I get over here as well.
Sunday at a car show here in Oceanside, I put my vette on a Dyno that simulates a 1/4 mile run. I was hammering off high 13's short shifting for a couple of runs, on the 3rd and final run I hit it pretty hard on the start and power shifted it into 2nd at about 5k and the clutch started to slip I quickly back out of it to let it grab and eased back into it, at about 5k I banged 3rd, which you guessed it clutch slipping again. I guess it might be time to think about getting a better clutch set up. The vette seems to run fine on the street with no slipage at all. Any one know what the labor costs are to install a new clutch and what type I should go with?
