Default C5 A4 Longevity

My car will be finished this week at a local shop. I went with Trick Flow 60cc heads, custom 228/234 112 cam, fast 90mm tb & intake, 3600yank and 3.42 gears and other goodies. Im hoping for 430-450rwhp, thing is Im still on a stock tranny(saving up for rebuild). I have a good size oem style trans cooler (10x11x1 1/4) that should keep it cool. I wont be driving it too hard, I have Nitto 555 extreme radials and it will only see the 1/4mi every few months.
Any idea how long the trans might last me? Anyone with similar rwhp with stock tranny please chime in!

Default I have a similar setu and...

A lot would have to do with your mileage and shape of the tranny. My car is a 98 A4 BUT I had 126K in the odometer. It would have been crazy for me to think I could have lasted long with all of the additional HP without switching to a new stronger tranny since I also did the stall converter and new rear end w 3.42 PLUS mine is a DD. With my set up I got 424RWHP/387 RWTQ. Should go up some once I get this intake swapped.

The tranny, my advice would be don't beat it up to much until you upgrade (better safe than sorry)

It will depend on mileage and luck. I've running 420rwhp, 3.42 gears and a 3000stall converter for 1.5 years now and I have put many many passes down the 1/4 mile on it. I still have money put aside for a replacement/rebuild but haven't needed it yet.

I still think its a matter of time.

I've got a little over 400 rwhp and just under 400 rw lbft. when I did my mods (see sig) I had 41K on the car, I've got 63K 3 years later and my trani is solid. I do road race but I never drag or 1/4 mile the car. and I NEVER use the trani to slow the car down - that's what brakes are for.

The trans has 36,000mi on it and Ive made less than 10 passes at the track with it. Sounds like it should hold up for a while as long Im not constantly hammering it. Wish me luck!

I have 1/2 of the '06 ECS CC season and all of the '07 season on the stock transmission. I've lost count of the number of 1/4mile passes made on my transmission.
