unfortunately I’ve got a big problem. After a head / cam swap I reinstalled everything, but: The hydraulic line from the power-steering-cooler cannot be screwed into the steering-box. The high-pressure-line from the pump could be installed without a problem.
Any ideas? Do I have to remove the steering-box to work on the thread? Or could you think of another solution?
Additional question: In the event that I have to remove the rack to rebuild the thread: Can the car be driven for approximately 5-10 miles WITHOUT the hydraulic lines connected and therefore without power-steering-fluid or will this instantly damage the pump and the steering-box?
Any other ideas?
Unfortunately my lift is broken and I would like to remove the steering in another garage where I have access to a working lift and I would like to get the car there without having to tow it.
