Default Need DTC help!

Just bought an 04 Z06, and it set the Service Engine Soon light last night. I looked at the code list here on corvette forum, but need some guidance.

P0420
P0430
U1160H
B2282
B2283
B2284
B2285
U1064
B0361
B0441

Something tells me this isn't good.

P0420 - Catalyst System Lo Efficiency Bank 1
P0430 - Catalyst System Lo Efficiency Bank 2

U1160H - DELETE - this is a meaningless code in this case.

B2282 - Battery #1 Circ
B2283 - Battery #1 Circ
B2284 - Battery #2 Circ
B2285 - Battery #2 Circ

U1064 - DELETE - this is a meaningless code in this case.

B0361 - Left Act Feedback Short to GND
B0441 - Left Act Out of Range

======================================== ====

OK, not so bad .... the Low Battery voltage messages probably posted when the car's battery was low sometime in the past. Delete these codes, we'll only worry about them if they come back.

The two for the LEFT ACTUATOR .... are they followed by an "H" or a "C", they indicate a problem with the left temperature actuator, have you been having problems with the HVAC ??? If all seems well, and they are followed by an "H", delete them also.

Finally, the two that set your SES light .... the P0420 and P0430. These codes indicate that your catalytic converters aren't functioning properly. Seems hard to believe that they both failed at the same time. Did you do any recent work on the engine or exhaust system ?? Did you work on any wiring recently ??? Basically either you have an exhaust leak .... or a wiring problem to the Heated O2 sensors.

Let us know ....

I bought the car with Headers. Probably either a small leak or they just need to be deleted out with a tune then. It's an 04 with 17k miles, so it probably sat a lot. That would explain the battery code. I thought U1064 was lost communication with the BCM? That was the one that worried me the most.

The Uxxxx codes are posted if a computer doesn't recive a message when it expects one (such as a "State of Health" message), or can't send a message when it wants to. Given the amount of traffic on the network, and that, by today's standards it is a slow network (runs at about the speed of a dial up connection), it is surprising there aren't more of tthese Uxxxx codes posted.

Unless you have reason to suspect that there is an underlying reason for the code (like the key fobs aren't working and the BCM is posting errors with the RFA), then I just delete them as "stuff happens".

Even the Service Manual offers no underlying diagnostics for the codes.
