Default Torque specs for rear axle nut?

I'm putting my car back together and I need to know how tight the rear axle nut needs to be torqued to. Thanks!

Advance Auto had an axle nut socket set in their loaner tools, they had 30, 32, 34, and 36mm sockets, I used the 34 and it worked fine.

Are you referring to the "drive axle spindle nut" ..... the big one you can see on the outboard end of the drive axle when you first remove the wheels ... centered inside the brake rotors ?????

My 2001 service manual says 118 lb/ft (160 Nm)

This is correct. Also the 34mm socket is correct.

Maybe have both on hand. Not sure on the 97-01 cars, but the 34 works on my 02 Z06. Don

34 worked on my 99, but it was a tad bit loose. I'm sure that 33 is the correct size but I had to make do with what I had available. Thanks for the help guys!

Mike: take some anti-seize compound and apply a thin coating all over the exposed threads and the nut too. You'll be glad you did later.
