Default Newbie here, performance questions.

Hello everyone. Let me first start off saying that I joined here a few weeks ago and wanted to say what a kick *** site/forum. I recently purchased an 04' C5 back in March with 36K on it. It is an auto, hatch with a targa top LS1. I have been reading a lot in the for sale section but I truly have no idea where to begin. I have roughly 3-4K to throw at this thing and want to improve hp without losing streetability. My question to all of you is simple. What can I do for that little cash? What hp gains can I expect? I know the obvious intake and exhaust, but which ones work the best, sound the best, and give the best hp numbers all the while keeping it streetable? I bought the car as a toy and something to have fun with, but I also got an auto and need to keep it streetable because I live in Chicago and the traffic here sucks. I see people running cams, turbos, superchargers, etc. but are those streetable and reliable? Any and all of your info as well as help is GREATLY appreciated.

I would do the following and in this sort of order
1. cold air intake--8-10 HP vararam or Honker -------------$275
2. Cat back---8-10 HP magnaflow--Borla ---------------$600
3. long tube headers- 20 HP Texas Speed -- SSAC ----$600
4. Custom tune--EFILIVE ---HP Tuners --15 HP--------------$450
5. camshaft----.225/230 @/50 --.550 lift 114 LSA----45HP---$400
6. heads---Patriot---stock GM LS6-- --25-35 HP --$1200
(retune required now--but tuner should re-tune for free)
7. Misc upgrades with hds/cam
under drive pulley--new oil pump-pushrods--lifters---------$500
Approx 4K without labor--
Should put you in the 390-420 RWHP range with your A4 and this type of cam is very streetable with a tune--

If you have anything left----next I would go for a 2600-2800 Stall converter W/ cooler--again very streetable and won't kill mileage too bad or overtemp tranny-- $500

A very streetabble combination--great power and no quirks---FUN to drive !!!!!Mileage still between about 25 on the freeway
