Default Wynn's steering pump flush

Anyone had this done? Our local Chrysler dealership is the only one in town offering brake and power steering flush. I'll probably have the brakes done at a bigger dearlership where they have a vette mechanic familiar with the bleeding sequence but I thought the power steering flush shouldn't be a problem. Just wondering if any of you guys have had yours flushed with this system?

Thanks,

Chris.

honestly, preventative maintenance is a great idea, but unless this PS flush is pretty inexpensive, I don't really see the need.

I haven't heard of a rack or power steering pump replacement on a C5...though I guess it does happen. I would just use a suction device on your reservoir and change out the fluid there and be done with it. Sure there is some in the lines that won't get changed but I don't see an issue.

I have over 135k on my car with the stock fluid, and there are people on here with 200-300k on their cars and I don't believe they have changed theirs either.

unless you know that something inside your power steering system has degraded or failed, there's not any recommended change/flush interval. I removed my power steering pump during supercharger install, and the fluid was clean when I drained it.
That was at about 60K miles.

I believe you can accomplish the same results over time by scheduling several exchanges of the Power Steering fluid in the reserve tank. I removed the fluid from the tank and added a Lucas product for power steering. Be careful in the removal of the fluid that you don't suction out the fluid from the line, just remove the fluid in the reserve tank. You will see that over time the new fluid will cycle out and combine with the new fluid but it will build everytime the fluid cycles and a replacement is completed. The fluid replacement is a 10 minute process at hood level. Car care stores sell a suction devise that looks like a large needle with a hose extension for additional reach.
