Default Plugs & Wires Question

What kind of improvements can I expect from the NGK TR55's? Also, which wires do you guys prefer, the Taylor brand or The GM Performance wires?

Which MSD ignition works best?

thanks

Zack

I just made a post similar to this and most recommended the TR55's. I just bought a set of MSD wires from LAPD, which is what they recommend.

Check out my signature for my plug and wire selection. Also, I expect a performance improvement, albeit I won't feel it by the seat of my pants.

Go with NGK TR55 Copper plugs
and
Magnecor Wires.

If your unsure about what kind of wires to use see my post in this thread:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=198345
also: http://www.magnecor.com/magnecor1/truth.htm

Also see the C5 tech section for a "how to" I did regarding installation.

I've gone w/ NGK TR55 plugs & MSD 8.5mm wires. I changed wires because stock ones kept coming off plugs. The MSD wires have held onto plugs as if glued to them. Regards..

kewlbrz, I always see high remarks from you about the magnecor wires. What is different/better about them and is there a CF vendor who carries them? Thanks.

Nology Wires and Beru plugs. Working great for me!

I've heard good things about the Magnecore too.

I went with the Taylors and have quite a bit of radio interference. I'm taking them off this weekend...

Glad I saw this, was seriously considering them. Think I will go with the Magnecor. How the heck do you get the old ones off? I can't get them to budge, even though the car only has 1000 miles on it

the Magnecor wires are an excellent choice, vettenuts. :yesnod: I've had them on my FRC for about 6 months and am very pleased.

As for the factory wires, just grab hold and pull. Alittle twisting may also help. Some of them are very difficult to get off especially #7. Man you just can't get a grip on that one at all :(
