What is everyone's opinion on spark plugs? I thought about changing the plugs just because and I need to know which ones most of you on here prefer. My car has 57,700 miles and runs fine but I thought it might help the gas mileage a tad.
This subject is highly debatable. I personally would go with a NGK TR55 but I don't mind changing plugs every 20K miles or so. IMO NGK is one of the best plugs made. Be prepared for a wide range of responses.
Go with TR6s if you are using a power adder such as nitrous or a supercharger.

Another vote for NGK TR55's, I plan on changing mine every 10k miles. They are about $1.85 a plug
I run the TR-55s in my Z - they are cheap and proven copper plugs, but as stated they could need changing more often than the premium platinum plugs.
I just put Bosch Platinum Plus 4 plugs in my wifes 99 coupe.
Her car has 51k miles on it and although the plugs still looked fine and I did not see any miss or stumbles that would have had me thinking the plugs needed replaced, I put in new plugs and GM performance plug wires "just because".
I chose the Bosch plugs while I was at a Mid America Funfest - they Bosch guys were (of course) talking them up, and I needed to make a sympathy purchase
My wife and I both notice that the car does seem to run more smoothly and has seemingly better throttle response.
I have not had them in long enough to see any changes in fuel consumption, but I doubt they will HURT MPG.
I use AC Delco part number 41-985 iridium plugs. They work great and are extremely long-lasting. Personally, I have never seen any proof of any engine performance difference between any plugs, of any manufacturer, as long as they are of the proper physical size, heat range and gapping. The time the plug performs well changes, but not the end performance result.

I run NGK TR55 because the tuner installed them free of charge with a header install. Free makes them good for me. Really, has anyone detected a difference in performance among the popular plug choices?
Doubt that it makes much difference other than the coppers have to be changed more often.

Going from NGK to Bosch or Autolite will not net you any more power
Don't know what the best is, but I just got done putting the Iridium plugs in mine and after plugging in a wire that came loose it purrrs. I idles better than the stock plugs, but they had 95k miles on them.
