I am waiting until the 4.10's are available before i do my gear swap. i am trying to decide what converter i want to get. I need something that will have a low enough STR to allow me to hook up on michelins. I don't really care about the converter being loose. I just want to be able to have the benefits of a conveter off the line for improved acceleration of the line and in my first and second gear. I have looked at the SY3500, but i am not sure if they make a low enough STR. What is it like with a converter? Does it kick in on the 2-1 downshift? Which one would be best for me?

Re: converter advise (bparker)
Go with the sy 3500 as it has a low str of I believe around 1.68. It still hit hard enough of the line and has the best efficiency of any converter out there. The one two shift is awesome and I suggest this with 3.42 gears or 3.73 at the most as you will never hook with 4.10s and they are not even out yet and need much testing b/f they prove they're reliable, durable, etc. Superyank 3500 with 3.42s or 3.73s is a hot street set up which also works great for those occasional dragstrip visits.
Definitely do not go with a 4.10 gear in an automatic equipped vehicle. That will be brutal for hooking off the line and will kill your gas mileage.
The super Yank 3500 is an excellent converter. It has a low STR and will not hit the tires too hard off the line. It can be used in combination with 3.42 or 3.73 gears with great results.
If you want to stick with the stock gearing, I would suggest you go with a Super Thruster 3500. It has a higher torque multiplication which will help off the line.
You WILL need to run drag radials or slicks to hook with any aftermarket converter.
Good luck waiting for 4.10's ... some issues there right now I guess. Kelwbrz has aa handle on it.
Anywas with a converter on michelins your best bet would be the SY3500. I have used it and it works great for street driving. But thath was with 3.42 gears. Yank also has the Yank 300 witha 2.0 str, that goes well with 3.15, but you may want to lower the str a touch with trying to hook with mich's. A Yank ST3500 and you will not hook up to save your life on mich. tires. I have the ST3500 in a car now and it is a screamer. With DR I have cut 1.61-1.64 60' times on a consistent basis. The str on the SY3500 is 1.65 with is low enough and I think under stock.
