Fuel pump quit while replacing clutch??
I get everything back together, and now it won't run. it acts like it is running out of fuel, starts and idles for about 10 seconds and then starts stumbing and eventually dies. No DTC's.
I checked fuel pressure and the most I can get priming with the key 10 times is about 24psi. Not near enough, but it will idle fine as long as it has more than 20 psi, once it drops below then it starts stumbing and dies.
I thought maybe we had pinched a line getting the Torque Tube back into place. But if this was the case, wouldn't I still get adequet pressure prior to cranking?
It seems to me that it is just a terrible conencidence, and that the fuel pump has crapped while we were doing the other maintence.
I don't think its a wiring issue, as the pump primes. I have not checked voltage at the pump as of yet.
Any ideas? Or where I can get an upgraded replacement pump for less than the 500 dollars everyone seems to want for one?
THANKS!!!
Yeah, I think that one is pretty important considering it's for the fuel pump itself. I always make a check list of what I disconnect that is not specifically covered in the service manual. Upon reassembly, all you have to do is go through the list in reverse order..and you're golden.......
