Default No seat memory movement... no engine start... recurring....

I have two recurring and sporadic problems that may be related.

First:
Sometimes (not always) when I get in the car and insert the key, the seat doesn't move into it's memory position. Doesn't move at all.

Second:
Sometimes (again, not always) when I get in the car the seat will move into it's memory position but when I turn the key there is no response. Doesn't even engage the starter.

Third:
Sometimes both of these take place.

The interesting part is this:
When I get the "no-start" episode, I remove the key, reinsert it, and it starts right up. At least it has the every time so far, which is a total of five or six in last ten or twelve times I've driven it. I've cleaned the key pellet. Not sure if I need to clean the ignition, and not really sure how to attempt that operation.

Anyone else ever experience this. If so, how did you resolve it?

Thanks in advance for your help or suggestions.

When the seat doesn't move by inserting the key, the memory button on the arm rest moves it when you press it.

You must have the door closed for the memory to work.

(i.e. Get in, close the door and then insert key)

You don't say if you have an auto or six-speed, as reasons for starting could be different.

I believe it also relies on the door being unlocked with the remote before it will adjust automatically.

It's a 6 speed.
And I think locking the door might have some connection. I mean locking the door after you exit and then unlocking with the key fob when you get it. That could be connected.

Thanks for the suggestion.
