APOLOGIES ESPECIALLY TO MIKE AND ALL THE OTHERS THAT TOLD ME 2.73 GEARS WOULD NOT TOP OUT IN 4TH. THERE IS NO SHIFT OUT OF 3RD.

I hate to admit it but I could NOT have been more wrong. I wish I had a good explanation as to why I was so sure that a shift occurred at 140. Having revisited the situation again on several ocassions, I realize no such thing happens. I am duly embarrassed. Please don't tell me I'm an idiot. I already know it.

I also agree you owed an apology and that is what you did. The caps were a nice touch.

ALL of us make mistakes and an apology should bring an end to ill feelings. (Not to say that there were actual ill feelings – just speaking in general) People nowadays of the most part, will never admit when they are wrong. This is a big part of our social ills.

Ideally, we are all here to learn and help when and where possible.

Wouldn’t hurt to send a PM to those directly concerned – just send a link to this thread.

These guys take a LOT of personal time to share their knowledge and they most certainly don’t need or deserve personal attacks that could result in discouraging them from continuing that path.

Even though I had absolutely nothing to do with the thread in question, I do appreciate your apology on principal alone.

Good Luck in all you do.
