Battery issues..

My 01 coupe has just a tad over 12k miles. I found the GM service records on the car, and between us and the previous owner, the car has been through 4, yes 4 batteries.

Does anybody have an idea as to why this is?

C5s are battery hogs when left sitting. Get yourself a battery maintainer (WallMart has one for $18), and use it anytime car will sit for 3 days or more. Your battery will last doing this.

My 01's OEM battery lasted 7 years and was still okay when I swapped it out. I drive my car 3 times per week and 12 miles each way to work.

Battery problem !

Check Your Battery cables & Make sure You can NOT TURN THEM after they are tight !! Some Bolts are toooooo long & even though the bolts are tight they are NOT making constant contact !!!!

test the amp draw on the battery after the car is turned of for more than 15 minutes. shouldn't be more than 30 milliamps. just put the ampmeter between the neg battery terminal and the wire. do this with the hood closed so the under hood light is off or remove the bulb.
