Which shocks?
I doubt the coilover concept would help much in straight-line racing. The idea with coilovers is to get the four corners completely independant of each other giving you excellent cornering capabilities.
Getting adjustable shocks no matter if they are coilovers or not gives you much better off the line traction by allowing weight transfer to the rear. If you are serious about straight-line racing get a set of adjustable shocks, I think several of the supporting forum vendors can help you getting a setup suiting your needs.

Go with the Bilsteins and you won't be disappointed.
I have used them on the track and street and they really are the best bang for the buck shock on the market!

he-he-he .... just joshing of course. Always amazed me that people will spend $15k on the engine and cheap out on the suspension. Yep, if you don't want the flexibility of an adjustable shock then Bilsteins would be the best shock for the money. A lot of C5's seem to have wheel hop issues with them at the strip though.
WTH, all the vendors here carry the readily available shocks; Bilstein, Hal, and Coni. I'm sure they'll sell you whichever ones you want. Sometimes they have the best price, sometimes not. A portion does go to supporting this board, you decide what's best.
